It has a surface of 5255 hectares and was declared Natural Space of the Canaries on June 19 1987, special zone of protection for wild birds and air of ecological sensitivity. The villages found in this natural space are Masdache, Vega de Tegoyo, La Asomada, Conil, Mozaga, La Geria, and El Islote, this region shows us the coexistence in harmony between the man and the environment especially in what concerns the vineyards. You are going to discover how the man has controlled the windy nature of this area, to be able to produce wine they have had to plant the vines at the bottom of big round holes surrounded by lava stonewalls, in which the vines grow.
