It has a surface of 5107 hectares and was declared National Park on August 09 th , 1974; it is the best example of volcanic habitat hardly colonized by vegetation, the only species living here get their food in the air that carries organic materials. Since ancient time, there has been hardly human presence in this place and that makes the area a living laboratory. You can admire the particulars of the lava forms and discover the beauty of the landscape by taking the tourist bus organized for this purpose. This park is totally surrounded by another Natural Park called "The natural Park of the Volcanoes".
